How do yellow sticky traps catch pests like fungus gnats?
If you have ever worn a yellow t-shirt out in the open during summer, you will probably have noticed that the colour yellow attracts a lot of flying insects - and it is this attraction that our yellow sticky traps make use of.The sticky traps attract unwanted flying insects, which then get stuck to the special high-quality glue. Yellow sticky traps for insects are therefore not intended as a control method, but rather for monitoring infestations and significantly reducing the amount of adult pests.

Each trap is coated with a high-quality glue, ensuring flying pests stick to it very well. Our yellow sticky traps can be used for up to 6 months. However, in the case of a heavy infestation, we recommend replacing the traps before the 6 month mark (and regularly from then on) to ensure the traps continue to attract and trap unwanted flying insects. Store in a cool and dry place.
This depends on both the plant and the type of pest you are dealing with. For small plants or fungus gnat infestations, stick the trap straight into the potting soil using one of the enclosed metal trap holders. For larger plants or whitefly infestations, hang the traps on the plant using the enclosed wire. Gently shaking the plants on a regular basis will disturb the pests and encourage them to fly towards the trap. Caution: Yellow sticky traps can also stick to your pets’ fur, so keep this in mind when placing them.

Our yellow sticky traps are best used indoors or in greenhouses. However, they can also be used outdoors. Just make sure to place the sticky traps as close to the infested plant(s) as possible, as beneficial insects and even small birds can also get stuck to them.
